Who am I?
Hello! I’m Rita.
In another life, I studied English Literature and earned a PhD in Comparative Literature. I thought I would follow an academic career, but life had other plans. After spending years in the United States and England, I returned to Katerini, where I now live with my family.
I picked up a paintbrush for the first time at the age of 40. Before I discovered chalk paint and the world of DIY, I couldn't even sew on a button! And yet, painting awakened something inside me. What began as simple furniture painting gradually became a deeper need—for creativity, artistic expression, and making things with my own hands.
I believe that creating is a fundamental human need, part of our soul and our longing for self-expression. No matter our age or what else is happening in our lives, creativity helps us express joy, channel sadness, and release frustration. It is a form of therapy.
